Please Chance Me for Bryn Mawr or any other sister school!

Hey everyone, college application season is here and I am really lost. Can someone please chance me for Bryn Mawr College or any other sister school

Please be honest, much appreciated!

I love Bryn Mawr College but I read a statistic that said they only have a 22% job placement which makes me a bit hesitant when applying ED2. My ideal job after graduation would be a job in private equity.

Stats: Weighted GPA: 87.3 (3.2) (I had a part time job in high school but after I left that
job my gpa kept increasing)
I will be going test optional
I took a total of 4 aps, 1 science , 2 maths, and 1 in the ELA department

Intended Major: Economics with a math minor

Extracurriculars: - Assistant coach for girls basketball team

  • Founder of a club dedicated to eliminating scarcity of women in the
    economic/business fields
  • Active seller on Poshmark/Mercari (online shopping websites)
  • 9 month internship with a program that trains me for a job on Wall
    Street
  • Accepted to a program with Morgan Stanley that exposes minorities to
    finance
  • Founder of a club that gives out skincare advice and routines to people
affected by acne or other skin disorders
  • Participated in a program in which I tutored 7th graders for a total of 8
    months
  • NYC ambassador for “LetHerLearn”

Awards- A $1,000 scholarship

  • A $500 scholarship
-My school doesn’t give out awards, so the only thing I could do was sign up for
    scholarships

Background: - My parents are from India but I was born here

  • middle class
  • Will be the first person to attend college in both of my parents families
  • I go to a competitive NYC high school
  • I did the net tuition calculator for all of the sister schools and I can afford to pay the amount they gave me.
  • I speak 4 languages, including English

This analysis may help you sort through potential Sister, as well as other LAC, choices by strength in economics: https://ideas.repec.org/top/top.uslacecon.html.

…and do better homework than “I saw somewhere that…”

A four-year graduation rate of 76% is a lot lower than I would expect from a college like Bryn Mawr.

This link shows Bryn Mawr’s 4-year graduation rate in the context of other colleges: https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/highest-grad-rate. Bryn Mawr compares to USC and Tulane, for example.

@collegemom3717 , That statistic was on Naviance and I did not state those exact words, but I appreciate the reply. The link that you posted emphasized on the results of Bryn Mawr’s class of 2016.

@merc81, the links that you posted really did help me a lot, so thank you. It opened my eyes to other great schools that I will be considering when it comes to submitting my application! I always thought Bryn Mawr’s Economics department was better than Mount Holyoke’s (mostly because of national ratings), but I guess not.

@Muad_dib , for a school that is nationally ranked as #28, it is quite surprising.
