Please chance me ...

I’m not sure why people persist in asking other applicants to a school to chance them, when those other applicants are in all likelihood just as unqualified to answer the question of whether or not the person in question will get into a university. Most people take this as an opportunity to bash the other person’s chances on here which honestly I think makes them feel better about themselves.

But for you, considering your impressive resume, I don’t understand who would have told you that a 2030 is a deal breaker. At columbia, the 25th percentile SAT Math Score is a 700, and the 25th percentile reading and writing scores are each a 690. That puts the SAT composite total score at 2080, which you are only slightly below. So in effect 25% of the students at columbia have about your SAT score or lower. That is a lot, and would give you a chance even if you didn’t have all the other impressive items that you do such as publishing books.

So in short, of course you stand a chance. The process is obviously very hit or miss with many qualified candidates not getting in, but that doesn’t mean you will or won’t be one of those that don’t
