<p>Welson, are you trying to get a 3.7 gpa first semester for automatic entrance to Hutton? If so, I would skip M118 the fall semester and take something much easier. You can always take M118 second semester, or, better still, in the summer at a cc if you don’t want to hurt your gpa. Finite is quirky, and a lot of smart people do not do well in it. The many benefits of getting into Hutton are worth taking an easy schedule your first semester at IU (especially if you are already a direct admit; remember you need to take at least 14 credits) and playing catch up in later semesters at IUB or by doing some classes at cc in the summer (preferably the latter). You only need C’s and above to transfer classes to IUB, and the grade has no effect on your IUB gpa. Some students take three or four Icore prerequisites or gen ed classes in one summer at cc and transfer them to IU, enabling them to take easier classes/lighter loads in Fall and Spring, giving them more time for EC’s.</p>
