PLEASE HELP! Why does USF's 7 Year BS/MD program Look So Easy?

Hello!

I am currently in the USF 7-year program. I am finishing my 2nd semester of my 2nd year in undergrad and I will be applying the USF Morsani College of Medicine this summer.

The program will not be easy for anyone after my year to be in the 7-year program. Because the 2015 MCAT requires so many more classes (psychology and sociology and biochem) to be ready for the MCAT, your first 2 years of undergrad will be SO PACKED with sciences every single semester it will be EXTREMELY difficult to stay in the program.

For example, I had mainly 2 sciences and supplement honors college courses to take every semester. Challenging but not bad. I maintained 4.0. However, 1st semester of my 2nd year, I had 3 sciences : physics 2, orgo 1, and anatomy & physiology. on top of the HARDEST honors course of the entire program (biomedical ethics with dr. marshall). Most of my fellow students got Bs this semester from the honors course and struggles in orgo 1.

My first two semesters and my summer semester were not bad, but challenging. The semester i just described was rough.

For anyone after my year, every. single. semester. will be a rough semester. Expect 3 sciences almost every semester with those difficult orgo 1 and 2 and biochem.

The program now is hard for some people to maintain over 3.7GPA but the 2015 MCAT 7-year will be almost impossible (in my honest opinion). There will be higher success with the 4 year track with USF Honors.

USF Honors will pretty much set you up to get into USF Morsani College of Medicine! They give you so many connections and resources~ If you are USF Honors I highly recommend their undergrad program to get into medical college :)

Cheers!
