Please recommend a new credit card!

The college rewards card does have a chip, if it is the same one I have (Fidelity.). My husband likes that for Europe travel, as they are big on chips there. But he always forgets his wallet (yes, to Europe! And Asia! He has walked from the airport to his hotel 10 miles!) so that is sort of a moot point!

Greenwich,
Amex open has 2 different account numbers but they show up on one bill. It just breaks it out into my charges and his charges. This seems convenient.

Forgot to mention, while the # of things one gets extra credit back on on the AmEx open has dwindled, I do like that it gores right back on your card each month. You dont have to save up $50 in credit to get it to apply. I have a cared I dot often use and its taking eons to get up tot that $50 to get my $ back.

Chase just replaced our Sapphire card with one that has a chip.

I do not know much about fees, but our Costco Amex is paying the most at the end. More than our Discover. But you " already have a Costco Amex". Not sure if you can bit it. If you can, I really would like to know also.

Chase Sapphire card is chip & signature, not chip & pin which is important if you happen to travel throughout Europe and have a need to pay at unmanned toll booths, gas stations or ticket kiosks. Someone pointed us to Barclay Arrival Plus as chip & PIN and I am checking into it right now.

I think the Marriott Chase card is chip and signature also. It’s weirdly heavy.

My DH did cancel hiw Delta Skymiles Amex card (d9dnt want to pay a fee to renew) so just booked tickets on the AmEx Costco, which gives 2% back on travel.
Here’s their standard rewards:
Earn cash back with the TrueEarnings® Card from Costco and American Express:

3% Cash back at US gas stations and on gasoline at Costco up to $4,000 per year in purchases, (then 1%)
2% cash back at US restaurants
2% cash back on eligible travel purchases, including at Costco
1% cash back on other purchases, including at Costco

This quazrter Discover and my USAA cr card are paying 5% on gas.

I dropped CapitalOne after the third time in a year they send me (unsolicited) a new card with a new number, requiring me to update all my online billing. And then I discovered after the fact that each time I started using the new card, the rewards got worse. Nothing was mentioned in any of the paperwork, of course. I felt it was sleazy and deceptive. And they are not known for their customer service.

I now use the Fidelity Visa Signature card, which pays 1.5% cash back on everything if you route the reward through your Fidelity account. I claim the reward and just write myself a check, very simple. It is no-fee and no games in all the years I’ve had it.13.9% interest, but we never carry a balance.

We use the Capital One card with 2% back. We are heavy users since all the business expenses get put on the card. I like the freedom to ‘erase’ past travel purchases rather than than trying to manage the points/airline system. For gas we use the Costco Business Open card. 4% back up to a certain limit and then it drops to 1% ( I think). Since we tend to hit the max level on the Amex card, H uses it for all his gas purchases and I use the Cap One.

Cap One says a Chip version is in the making. Costco Amex says they can send a chipped card upon request.
