I want to go to school this spring 2011 january at NYU. but i dont know how and where to start. i dont know all the requirements. i checked their website but i find it confusing. i really need help about it, i want to know everything like the exact details. plus, is it really hard to get into that kind of school? btw, i went to high school back in my country philippines. i came here in US 3years ago and as soon as i got here i took a Nursing Assistant Program and now im working as a nurse assistant. but i wanna go to school too and graduate. i cant work like this forever, thats why i need help about it. i dont know where to start and i do want to become a nurse. they said getting in a nurse course here in United States is really hard. now im like so scared, of what if i don’t get admitted? i really wanna pursue my goals… so anyone here?willing to explain or help me about my problem? too bad i didnt go to high school here. it would have been more easier… but i came here i was 18 yrs old. and im done w/ hs.now i jst need to go to college and take the course that i want.

i want to be a nurse too:) anyway i dont know how you could start in january, the academic year starts in the fall (september) unless you’re doing the 15 month accelerated program, but you have to have a bachelor’s degree in another field to do that…

well to apply you need: a high school diploma, the SAT or ACT with writing part, 2 SAT Subject tests, apply on the common app, a recommendation, and i can’t think of anything else. you do have a different situation so i’m not exactly sure, because i applied straight out of high school.

about how hard it is to get in, it says:
“Admission to the College of Nursing is selective. Candidates are accepted on the basis of predicted success in the B.S. Program.” it shouldn’t be too hard, especially since you already have experience being a nurse assistant, you would also have recommendations from them.

[New York University - College Of Nursing](http://www.nyu.edu/nursing/academicprograms/bachelors/freshmen.html)

^ that is the website for freshmen applicants, or you could look at the accelerated program if you qualify

212-998-5300 you should also call them to explain your situation and they could probably help/explain better.

so if you’re applying for the 4 year program, you would apply for the 2011-2012 year (you could apply early which is due like november this year)
hope i helped, good luck:)

thank you scorpqueen! btw, have u ever tried studying abroad?

you’re welcome. and i haven’t studied abroad, i’m still in high school and will hopefully be going to nyu this fall but i haven’t decided yet (its expensive). i think they said you can study abroad in sophomore year.

why where you at right now?yeah its expensive, but if u save money right now before school start ur good and also theres financial aid. i thnk studying abroad is cool, and more fun and u can focus more on school work. i hope i can go study abroad too.
