Plumbing repeat - empty nest

“This is also true if you have a bathroom in the basement that tends to get used by the kids but seldom by you and your spouse.”

If it were my kids and friends, the basement bathroom that went uncleaned by parents would have smells unrelated to dis-use!

Yes, I’ve been turning the water off but I’m thinking about getting someone in to clean the bathrooms, and dust etc. while it’s on the market so it might be better to leave the water on and keep the drains flushed. And perhaps run a load of towels through the washer while they’re there too.

Yes, leave the water on…Buyers will want to run the plumbing. Plus you never know when a family looking will have a child who just has to…yes, you want all the plumbing to work!

Point well taken!

Sometimes it’s not a child. :o

We are getting ready to leave our new summer home after spending our first season and only yesterday walked through the house with the new caretaker (who will come in once a week to check on the house). He said that he flushes the toilets weekly. Now I have to call him and ask him about running the baths and showers! I learn so much here on CC.
