I bought a North Face water resistant jacket just before my trip last summer (included England and AMS). We went from 90+ and sun to complete downpours. It came in very handy.
It covered my rear and had a hood so an umbrella wasn’t necessary. Not lined, and it rolled up into a little bag.
I had one summer trip to Paris years back where I had to try and find a raincoat. I now pack one every time.
