That’s very interesting. A friend of my daughter has a similar experience.
Was accepted at Cal Tech, Princeton, Stanford but waitlisted at Mudd (I believe she was rejected by Harvard).
There is a lot of mention of CMU on this thread. I believe the CS department has a separate admission? (the rate is in the low 6%?)
Back in the old days, these schools (CMU, UIUC, Michigan, etc) were pretty easy to get into - man, I feel old.
Talked to a neighbor (I think she is in the 70’s) recently and she said the same thing about WUSTL.
