Thank you for the response and all the help and for giving me hope. I’ll keep this forum updated with what happens next.
Fingers crossed it all works out for you.
Hello, so I just called the admissions operations unit asking if they have received my email, and they said they did and will send a response but all they said was “Hello, Thank you for clarifying,” while I was still on the phone with them. I’m not sure if this is good or bad but then I asked the person on the line if my admission was at risk for being rescinded and she said I wasn’t. I don’t know if I’m just being paranoid but can I please get a second opinion on this? Thank you.
Do you know whom you were speaking with in admissions? Was it someone of authority or just someone answering phones?
I am surprised that they actually answered your question unless they are the individual reviewing your case and transcript.
I would not bother them any further. They have confirmed they received your email so I would wait for a response.
Hello, When I first called a lady answered and then they put me on the phone with another woman who I am assuming was of authority since she also put me on hold after asking for my PID and name. I also had to explain the discrepancy to this person but while she put me on hold, I got the email responding to my email stating "Hello, Thank you for clarifying,” And when she got back, she said I should have received an email and then I asked her if I would be rescinded for this and she said no.
However, I also called back again to check if my transcripts have all been sent and they put me on hold with the same person and she was able to see that I was missing one of my transcripts. She also recognized that I had called earlier after I gave her my info and she chuckled and asked in a friendly manner if I had any further questions and I asked if my transcripts don’t arrive would my admission be rescinded and she said yes.
Be sure the appropriate documents have been sent and stop calling.
Hello, I’m sorry but I’m just very worried and can’t stop thinking about this.
Hello, do you know when they typically send out rescind notices?
There is no typical timeline. It will depend upon when they complete reviewing each student’s transcripts and if a response is required to address any issues. I have seen a couple of posts about student’s being rescinded from some other UC campuses.
Do you know what they have been rescinded for? Is my issue similar to any of those incidents? I’m sorry for taking up your time.
Not the same issue as yours.
One was a grade omission which was a D.
The other was a Transfer for dropping a required class and not meeting the minimum Transfer requirements.
Okay, thank you for the response. What do you recommend I should do now however? From where things stand, is it likely my admission would be rescinded?
No, it is not likely your admission will be rescinded so just be patient and wait for their response.
Okay, I’ll try my best to keep calm about this and wait for any other information on my case. Again, thank you so much for your help and guidance.
You asked. They said no. Why panic?
Just learn and triple check everything going forward. It’s a lesson to learn.
No point in panicking yourself tho. It’s out of your control but they indicated a positive outcome.
If it did happen, then you can go to community college or take a gap year. But it sounds like you’ll be fine given the words you posted.
Hello, Thank you for the encouraging words. I don’t know why I’m so paranoid about this situation but UCSD is one of my dream schools and I would be devastated if I lost my admission over some mistakes that I could have easily prevented. I will definitely triple check anything I do from now on.
That’s all you can do - learn.
There are no dream schools. All have issues - bad profs, roommates, professors etc.
Hopefully you have no issues but if something did happen, you’d alter and find another path.
Your life won’t be made or broken just because you go to ucsd. But no doubt this is something to learn from.
