Some people need to get over their inferiority complex, and stop bragging to people they don’t even know. That is lame. If anything you should be even more willing to tell people your scores if you dont know them. I dont think it matters what other people have to think about my scores. I got a 2 on the World History AP exam as a sophomore and I’m fine with that. I improved for my others junior year.

Most of my nation doesnt even know what AP exams are… let alone have classes for them lol… recieved my results via slow snail mail…

Chem: 5

Calc BC: 5 (AB Sub: 5)

yeah, 3 months of self study. and i’m just finished secondary school (ap-like content are only in pre-university courses which most students attend after secondary school before entering university courses here)

this is one thing i like about the american system compared to the british system… its so easy to score the highest grade… :P

Bio - 5
Calc BC - 5 (AB sub - 5)
Chem - 5
English Lang & Comp - 5 (late score)

Did anyone else take the make-up English Lang exam? Because its level of difficulty paled in comparison against the original test with the essays on flamingos, money, and whatnot. -_-

I would hope that, as a general observation, the make-ups not always be easier than the regularly scheduled. Although people at my school who have done make-ups all seem to notice that this has been the case several times.

As for the awards, I don’t think they are announced and handed out until after AP scores from senior year are reported. Since they need take into consideration every AP test you have taken and ever will take. Which means being named the State Scholar won’t actually help with the admissions process, although just having an appearance of eligibility for that award would definitely be a plus.

I just got my late score:
Spanish Lang - 3
Which is better than I expected, and lets me into third-year Spanish classes at college. Plus all those nifty advanced standing credits…

I didn’t take the late test, though - somehow, my free response section was classed as “unreadable”, and they went and projected the score off of multiple choice answers. Has this happened to anyone else?

Some awards are made in the fall after you have taken your exams, based on the # of exams & your scores, while as was posted, the remainder can’t be awarded until they know how many tests others in your state took & how they scored. Son did receive an award fall of his senior year based on the exams he took spring of junior year. Won’t hear about the rest of his awards until sometime this fall (freshman year of college).

JennyWren, I had a “sort of similar” situation in 10th grade. Something was wrong w/ all of our tape recorders on the AP Spanish test so our AP Coordinator called the CB and they said we’d take an alternate form of [just] the speaking part. So our AP Coordinator signed us up for it but she never told us the date we had to take it. (I was a silly, naïve, little sophomore then so I didn’t know I could look it up online) No one showed up w/ their AP pack so no one had their AP #’s ready for the late speaking. It turned out we had to write our names and bdays on blank labels and PRAY that they’d match that up w/ our previous sections of the exam. In the end, they did grade the complete test (rather than projecting the score)… But it sure took a long time. (I got a 5 btw!!)

Darn… I want my [late] AP Bio grade!! I called in and they said it wasn’t even GRADED yet b/c of some mistake on their part!
Woe is me. Princeton grants credits for only 5’s in Bio, so it’s killing me that I have to wait 'til mid-August to find out whether or not I qualify for Science credit.

JennyWren:
I just received my “D’s” AP Spanish grade in the mail and it said the same thing as yours. Funny because I remember my D telling me she couldn’t even hear the recorded portion of the test because of all the noise in the auditorium that day. Probably a good thing.

I think the Optics free response question kept me from a 5

I am mostly angry at the Physics score. A 5 would have allowed me to skip a class my freshman year.

At USC, 5s in Physics B & C (both E&M) doesn’t allow you to skip ANY physics, so the 5s my son got just give him “credit” toward higher standing for earlier future registration, I guess. Oh well, it is good background for when he takes physics 2nd semester.

Nothing to be proud of.

I was one Physics score away from being a National Scholar, but beyond that, more than anything I am disappointed in myself. I’m embarassed to admit it, but I went into some of these exams absolutely cold. Granted I took all of these classes, but still, I did not work too hard last year. What the hell is wrong with me?

acraig: ***? You had an optics question for Physics B? Not me… :S Optics questions are much easier for me. Meh. Guess we had different versions.

Dont be so hard on yourself, danielle. those are still good scores, and you have next year to make national scholar.

wait im confused about what danielle said… io thoguht that to be a national AP scholar u’d need an average score of 4 for 8 exams. wouldn’t one of her fives balance out with the 3 she got in physics to make the average of both a 4? or does the rule for the title mean that u have to get at least a 4 on EVERY one of the 8 exams you take?

u have have at least 8 exams with 4+. does the ab subscore count as one? coz then im a ap scholar yay. lol otherwise, ill have to wait til next year =/

Subscores don’t count.

4+ on each? brutal. but im gonna go for it hey you only do high school once
