Pre-Med program & majors

There’s a whole thread devoted to this topics:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pre-med-topics/214387-what-should-premed-major.html

But basically you major in almost anything so long as you complete the required pre-reqs for medical school.

What are these pre-reqs?

2 semesters general chem w/labs
2 semesters organic chem w/labs
2 semesters of biology w/labs (some school have specific bio course requirements)
2 semesters of general physics (algebra-based is fine unless your undergrad or major requires calc-based)
2 semesters of college level math, one of which should be statistics
2 semesters of writing intensive classes
1 semester of intro psych
1 semester of intro sociology

Specific medical schools may additional requirements (genetics, anatomy & physiology, upper level humanities/social sciences, etc)
