But “Foods with a high glycemic index…e.g., soda, fruit juice, white potatoes…” Again this is where our own genetics come into play. Being Slavic, going back generations, my mother could eat white potatoes and get no spike. Rice or pasta, otoh, did an immediate job on her numbers.
I know there are diabetics here who’ve amassed a lot of knowledge, what woks or them. But in my own research, It’s hard to find the ADA laying out fixed recommendations/one size fits all. In part, because this can be deadly serious; they want you to get help specific to you and your patterns and responses. They repeatedly suggest getting your own proper dietary advice.
