Preemptive strike against Iran?

The U.S. is already aiding Al Qaeda-related terrorists in southern Iran - the Iranians actually caught one the other day. Of course, if the U.S. bombs Iran, the Iranians will bomb the U.S. military bases in Iraq.

Very likely, yes., mini. As well as attacking U.S. interests elsewhere. Cheney/Bush would be fools to do something like that unnecessarily.

But then I thought they would be fools to attack Iraq unnecessarily in 2002.

Oh, Iran is on the docket, make no doubt about it. It’s all in the PNAC playbook.

Bush believes, as the war prez, that he doesn’t need Congressional approval for anything. There isn’t any question in my mind that the boats lining up in the gulf are readying for an air strike…and it could be soon.

What happens after that? All holy hell breaks out (since we only have civil wars in Iraq and Gaza right now, and need a bit more unrest in the region…sarrrrrrcasssssm)
