Preppy colleges for slightly above average student

Additionally, a lot of students form their ties/social relationships by living in the dorms…they eat together, hang out and do stuff together, etc. If you’re alone in your off-campus housing, it’s a lot more difficult to build the same level of friendships as someone who literally just goes to the room next door or down the hall.

Would your family be willing to assist in getting a place after college? If they’re getting you one while you’re in college, then you’re basically needing to think about where you want to live after college and where there are job opportunities, etc. It’s a whole different layer of complexities and can be very limiting when you go out on the job market after college.

I definitely plan on living in the dorms for freshman year and possibly sophomore
