I’d like to know as well…my school is being a/an (insert juicy swear word here) so I don’t have any school-sponsored music things for this year. Do you think they’d accept another music recording? (probably not but worth a shot)

I’m doing a state academic-type competition early January that might work out well, so do I just email admissions with the results if I do end up placing?

Hopeful - maybe you can start biochem club at your school (I think that was your intended major but not sure) - you probably already have the benefit from music, add something new with leadership and related to your intended major

guys guys guys my Princeton App Tracker still hasn’t updated my decision… is this happening to anyone else?
I’ve already checked my application and it said I applied restrict early action…

@lernr1 Seniors aren’t allowed to start clubs at my school, but thanks for the idea! I’ll just send in a new recording and competition results if I place.

WOW. I count 11 acceptances here, 18 deferrals, and NO rejections. That’s almost 40% of you guys admitted, and all of the rest are still alive for RD! I know you’re not a random sample of applicants, but still… Congratulations!

Deferred. Congratulations for all those who got in!!! Well if anyone is wondering this is what the deferral letter says,

The admissions committee has completed its early action deliberations and has deferred a decision on your application until the spring. We received more than 3,000 early applications, and we had many more qualified candidates than we could admit. The committee recognized your record of achievement and appreciated the time, care and effort you put into your application.

Often a deferral means that the committee would like to see your senior year academic performance. Your application will be reconsidered in February and March with the entire applicant pool. Please be sure the Mid-Year School Report is sent to us as soon as your mid-year grades are available. If you would like us to review additional information, please send it to us by the end of January. Please be aware that we expect our regular decision process to attract a strong applicant pool.

We realize this defer decision is disappointing news, especially since Princeton may have been your first choice. We look forward to evaluating your application again with the rest of the applicant pool.

Hey everyone! After two hours of sobbing (and many more to come), I just wanted to tell you guys that I was deferred. It’ll take a looong time to get over it, but hopefully I’ll recover.

@Ambitious19
I’m sorry to hear that you were deferred (so was I from Columbia). You definitely seem passionate about Princeton.
The cool thing about getting deferred is that you can eventually be accepted. There’s still hope!

@ambitious19 after lurking on this thread for a while, i honestly thought you would get in… i’m sorry it didn’t work out i know exactly how you feel – i’ve also been crying pretty much uncontrollably since i got my deferral. good luck in the next round! it’s hard to accept that there are still months and months of waiting ahead, but we (all of the deferred princeton SCEA hopefuls) will get through them somehow
