just play 5 hours of dota and watch 5 hours of anime a day like me and you’ll get in. literally - go to school an hour late, sleep through morning classes, go home, play games and stare at waifus. i guess i’ve stopped watching anime now that i’m here but i played 10 hours of dota the other day so…
some notes on your “stats”
(1) SAT is bs, as long as you get like 2300+ it doesn’t really matter since it just measures basic competency and whether you can stay awake through boring lectures.
(2) keep up your gpa - my advice is, if the cutoff for an A is 89.45 (my school), at least half your classes should be between 89…45 and 90. minimal effort, maximal return.
(3) summer math courses are dumb. so is calc bc. honestly, high school math is pretty dumb, and unless your a college major, moth college math as well.
(4) ok don’t even get me started on cty… btw i won the game (if you get that reference).
(5) gratz on taking a princeton course so early on. which course is it? just don’t be like me and forget to submit the final and get a b-…
(6) black rock pays a good amount, so i think that’d be a good thing to try out. jane street does pay more though (10.5k v. 7k) and is also quantitative investment.
(7) personally, i’d say time spent on games/anime >>> time spent volunteering, but idk
(8) starting clubs is a pain. have fun. but make sure that you get the club going (the hard part).
(9) you gotta get money first - do you have any rich friends? also there’ll probably be an economic recession in a few years so be careful.
(10) get in shape. also if you do apply to harvard, submit a supplement, don’t go to the interview with a green mohawk, and don’t tell the interviewer that you applied just because its prestigious. that’s the recipe for getting waitlisted. i think princeton and stanford are fine though.
(11) i would also recommend (a) research, such as being a Intel STS winner or attending prestigious scientific conferences (b) competitions, win stuff, free stuff, always good © if you start playing dota i’ll add you on steam
