I suspect a lot of colleges are going to grapple with this. In one of Michael Roth’s (Wesleyan) articles in the NY Times, he already noted that for his seminar, he’s gone back to using blue books in the class for an exam instead of having students write essays outside of class. All because AI makes it so easy to cheat.
I’ll note that the student that authored this piece asks that question rhetorically and at the end notes, “The College would be making a grave mistake in choosing to send the same message that Princeton already has: that students can no longer be trusted.“
