ohh wait are you using the portal or admitted link
@MissAnthropy You were able to log in to admitted.princeton.edu?? Wouldn’t that mean that you’re accepted?
Same message. Probably means decisions were finalized today? Just speculation.
wait what link are you using
I honestly have gotten past the point of stressing or worrying, I just HAVE TO KNOW. I want to know if I have to do my other apps too, haha
@sozzle Same, I still have four more RD apps if this doesn’t work out… gonna be a long two weeks of break
@gmanhax sorry I’m rly dumb I just went to the normal portal ignore me. I got the same message at princeton.admitted
@gmanhax Same message
@MissAnthropy No worries! I’m trying desperately to find some kind of clue but looks like I’m gonna have to wait haha.
Personally, I think that it means that the decisions are officially being put into the system
Ugh Im so godamned nervous everyone
guys guys don’t worry! they don’t deserve our worries right now!! enjoy your last december/holiday time with your family if you feel stressed and can’t focus on school work make the time worth it by reading a cool book, spending time with family, watching movies, baking food, buying presents, or going out with friends. everything will be lovely, i promise, you all seem so nice and smart!! any university would be lucky to have you as a student!!
Should be studying for a test, writing a paper, etc…
Instead I’m refreshing this thread, my portal, and congratulating all my superior friends on their acceptances to Harvard, Penn, Columbia, Stanford etc. on Facebook
Keep in mind, Princeton renders decisions on just a few for this early deadline. They effectively skim the cream of the crop. Most will be deferred-and then denied in April. Its frustrating that they handle it this way rather than making more decisions now, but they don’t. So lower your expectations but never give up hope!
Hate to bring this up again, but I find it odd that Princeton would be asking for first quarter grades a few days before decisions are released, particularly so when my school runs on a semester basis.
My guess is that these grades are used to determine borderline candidates. Any thoughts?
@catullus101 You are correct. The vast majority will be denied. If they asked for your first quarter grades, well, …it could be a good sign!
@grandscheme People often say that, but I can’t imagine that when Princeton accepted 785 applicants of the 4,229 that applied early for the class of 2020, it was merely “skimming the cream of the crop.” Yes, I know that many with hooks are let in early, which results in an inflated acceptance rate. However, the way you phrased it still sounds off to me, given the numbers.
@gmanhax no person is superior to another based on what college they get into! it’s what you do with yourself wherever you go. I know that sounds cliche but its true. My sister was sal of her class, began a massive pre med program at her school, did extensive volunteer and research work, and got denied from everywhere that was “at the top”. She went to a “lower college” instead and guess what? Because she was stronger than many other students, she managed to surpass fellow candiates as her professors acknowledged her talents (the talents an officer who skims your application does not take note of) for the medical school option (which has a 1% acceptance rate) that allowed her to apply early and get out of taking the MCAT. You will all do wonderfully no matter where you go if you push yourself to your full potential <3
To students fretting about decisions (my son was there last year), please read this article that tries to bring some levity to the insanity. In case the link is not allowed (not trying to violate any terms of service!), it’s a New York Times article by Frank Bruni entitled “College Admissions Shocker!” from March 30, 2016.

Just had a thought-- if, as everybody has been saying, the portals will be jammed up for 30 minutes or so, would it be wiser to try to log into “admitted.princeton.edu” at 3 PM and if it works, you’re in?
