so far, around 2 percent of Princetons applicants are members who post on CC. I think the number of Princeton applicants who visit this site but do not post is closer to around 5 percent.

So, 95% of all Ptn applicants probably have more constructive things to do with their time. LOL

How you believe the cc community compares with the entire Ptn applicant pool?

i have been pondering the same question. better, worse, or the same?

Hopefully not any better! I’m hopelessly intimidated by this site as it is…

I had read somewhere on CC (where else, right?) that the quality of applicants on CC is much higher than the general applicant pool. But that is just an opinion, no hard data. But, I would like to think it’s true!

Any other opinions?

but the sad reality is that last year the ED admission rate for applicants on CC is very close to the actual rate for the entire pool.

So perhaps the cc community is a pretty decent representation of the entire pool?

My whole theory:

CCers pretty much have high statistics and are overachivers in general. I belive that when compared to the AVERAGE applicant, your average CCer has much higher chance of getting into their school of choice. It is the number of legacies and athletes, a lot of whom do not post on CC, which seems to skew the percent admitted. If you took out the athletes, special cases, and legacies from the data set of the early pool I would guess the numbers would probably be around 10-15 percent admittence for Princeton ED. So when you look at the numbers and see an ~30 percent admitted CC rate it actually, to me, seems VERY high.

all of this is just IMHO

I agree with Matt because most people who got accepted from CC last year where NOT recruited athletes or legacies and were simply bewildered that they got in. Hopes its like that again this year!
