Princeton Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

Also, waitlisted

@FollowingSeas19 Hey! That means there is still some hope!

I was rejected!

Rejected

also rejected.

rejected …

I was rejected. I thought I’d be upset, but I’m not because I’m convinced that another certain school is the perfect match for me. There is still hope. I do look forward to applying to Princeton again for graduate school.

Rejected, but oh well!
It is time to go back on the grind.

Not yet.

Rejected

Accepted, and it’s very surreal. I spent the hours following the notification gasping “Oh my gosh!” In an uncontrolled fashion throughout my classes and evening. I am also hoping to have decisions in from all the other competitors in the near future. I honestly hope all the other competitors reject me so that I have no tough decisions to make. Granted, this in itself is phenomenal.

Hot sauce dude congrats, I was rejected unfortunately but I’m glad someone got in, and I’m sure you deserve it too. Btw do you mind sharing stats?

If you’re not a cc student or vet you’re chances are about nil as a transfer here. 1 guy who is presently a cc transfer said only 1 of the transfers at p’ton went to a 4 year school and is not a vet. And here’s a quote from the adcom director a few days ago about who they accepted:

“Last year, our transfer program brought to campus many more military-affiliated and community college students, who’ve enhanced our campus community in numerous ways,” said Jill Dolan, dean of the college and acting dean of admission.

And she continues:

“This year’s admitted transfer class will make our veteran community even more robust, and will bring to campus the rich experiences of people whose lives have taken other paths. We are pleased to be able to continue increasing the diversity of life experiences our students share with one another.”

well so 8% of the transfer class came from a 4 year. There’s a chance

actually 8% of .9% turned out to be 1 in 1300. Yeah still a chance - like dumb and dumber

12 out of 1300 isn’t too inspiring either tbh…looks like best way in is via frosh admissions

That’s true. I think the only way to go is ED to Princeton with some kind of great angle. My only real beef with them is not being upfront about who they are ‘considering’ for transfer admission. If you’re not even considering 90% of the applicants, why be so deceptive and waste hardworking students’ efforts and dollars? Just very nasty. No other school is exclusive like this that I am aware of. It’s just Princeton. I know others are favoring vets and so on, but I don’t know of any others that are just dismissing 99% of non-vet, non-cc transfer apps (dismissing I mean just tossing in the trash). And the numbers prove this! Anyway, there are lots of other great schools which do fairly consider everyone. All the other Ivies are pretty fair.

hi real hot sauce, congratulations.
I am an international student , got into a public university with a great scholarship at Ohio, but I’ll try to transfer to Princeton.I have a 1550+ on the new SAT, double 800s on subject SATs, a couple of 5s in AP Physics, Calculas. I have a 3.7 GPA, but am lacking in significant extra curriculars. Any advise on what I should do in college to get a good app? Also, if you don’t mind me asking, what are your stats?
