Princeton Tops LinkedIN’s Top 50 Best Colleges for Career Success

When you put it like that, we’re back to what’s an LAC ? Is Bucknell, tops for job placement but has a school of Management and College of Engineering ?

I’m guessing. I don’t know how they measured or whether they adjusted for # of students in school, as the methodology does not specify detail about what they are doing. However, my guess is that “how connected alumni of the same school are to each other” involves looking at average number of connections in LinkedIn profile.

I’d find it more useful if they specified how they are measuring this metric and the numerical value of this metric for different colleges. If you believe that this is the best measure of connected people you have ever heard, then I expect it would be useful to know how well/poorly the colleges you are considering did in this metric, beyond just whether they are in the listed top 5 or not.

I see that the post at Your degree isn't the only thing you take with you after graduation — you gain a network, too. | LinkedIn News posted on the topic | LinkedIn appears to list top 10 by this measure, rather than the original post list of top 5. A summary is below. Many smaller colleges are included among top 10, so I expect there is some type of calculation adjustment for size, such as measuring % rather than just looking at absolute number of connections. Again, I am guessing.

High Point. I can see it !!

Salary is not discussed. High (or relatively high) salaries are assumed…at least by me….due to “top industries” and “where they stand out.”
