We toured a campus where packages are only delivered as far as the sorting center several blocks from housing for ‘security purposes’. Great! But it stinks when your super heavy order of text books arrives.

When are we going to get back to treating adults like adults? Our culture no longer treats young adults like adults and then we wonder why (for some…too many) adult behavior and responsibility doesn’t follow.
I find the medium size priority mail box is best when sending care packages. For $13 and change you can send it most anywhere, all you can fit. I used to buy the large for $18 and change, but find the medium though smaller is deeper and better for food items. The box is free, so why not? Husband picks up a few at the starat of each school year and we pull them out as needed.
If a box contains liquor, or is thought to by the labelling, it has to be signed for by someone over 21.
I don’t know if the rules have changed but in Massachusetts several years ago the local post office would not accept a package I was trying to mail that was in a former wine box, even though it did not contain any wine.
