Project!

1st off thanks for the help.
that link you sent me was really useful.
well i want to go to Reed because i love to learn and not just because i want to make money (although that would be nice!) but because i just simply am curious. Also as much as I love my friends in high school I think I would fit in at Reed because I am well… quirky (I know it’s a cliche) but I want to be somewhere where the fact that I spend my spare time reading textbooks or the new Chuck Palahniuk, who is a genius by the way, novel won’t be considered weird.
Another reason is that I grew up in a small “alternative” town on the big island of Hawaii, where creativity is celebrated, hippy dances are plentiful, and clothing is optional. I know most people hate where they grew up, but honestly, i can’t think of somewhere better and I love that Reed also has that same atmosphere.
Now you might wonder, why Reed? Why not some other liberal arts colleges?
The simple answer is location and alumni.
My grandmother, grandfather (they met at Reed) and 2 cousins have graduated from Reed and loved it. My grandmother actually graduated from their to be the dean of teachers college at Lewis and Clark and my grandfather makes tests for malaria for 3rd world countries.
My grandparents live in Portland still and I really want to have family near by me.
So those are my more personal reasons : )
And more tidbits please!
