<p>Neckties are never worn with a tux. There is some kind of stud-thingy that I have seen as an alternative to the traditional bow tie. Why don’t you go to a tux store and get some idea of what’s usual and what things look like.</p>
<p>Maybe you could suggest doing the “matching” thing with your corsage and his boutonnire (sp?) instead of with the dress and bowtie if that seems dorky to you.</p>
