<p>Sarcastically assailing a Strawman is not going to win you guys any points. </p>

<p>I’ve never said that pressure cooking is a good thing. But I don’t think it makes sense to say that, “oh X minority is not sending their kids to colleges b/c of cultural reasons so we should admit them over asians” Look, the premise of my argument is that once the minorities have equal access to educational opportunities, then the playing field is even. If Asians still send a higher percentage of kids to college, then so be it.</p>

<p>I think some headway could be made by putting more weight on kids that work to support their families instead of doing as many ECs for freshman admissions. Do they not do that already? I mean, balancing work and academics is a way better predictor of college performance than balancing ECs and academics.</p>

<p>They already do. They just don’t look at race as a factor. Even though they’re correlated.</p>

<p>I always thought accepting someone because of affirmative action was like steroids. EVeryone will look at their acceptance like an asterisk like a roided up athlete</p>
