pros/cons/in between for using a mac at college

*A lot of Mac users look at PC users like they are less than human…which is why PC users pick on them.

*Steve Jobs puts toooo much culture into their products. An entire year before Apple discussed its partnership with Starbucks, I predicted that they would have something going. Now all that has to happen is Gap jumps on the bandwagon.

<p>Because culture is bad? That makes no sense. Nobody seems to hate Google culture. I’d bet Dell/HP/Toshiba/Sony execs would LOVE to somehow create culture in their products. They try, and fail miserably (look at those HP ads).</p>

*You are pretty much obligated to get Apple Care because Apple uses proprietary hardware. If Ram goes in your iMac, you don’t have a computer for a long time.

<p>What? Replace it with whatever ram you want. I have never seen anybody actually get applecare, especially if you are confident you won’t be doing anything dumb with your laptop and/or have friends who could prob fix your problems easily.</p>

*Apple has the same monopoly on hard disk music players as Microsoft has on operating systems, and no one says a damn thing about it.

I don’t hate Apple, but I just hate people who defend them tooth and nail when they are A) Not tech people. One girl told me OSX was better because she liked the shortcuts more…yea. B) They live in that “Apple Culture”. The people who drink Starbucks and wear Gap clothes with thick glasses. Typical hipsters.
