Pros & Cons of buying New Nissan Leaf

Yes, the $10K rebate from Nissan and the electric company made Leaf rise to the top of the list–great price break!

Yesterday, when I went to a Nissan dealership, the only cars they had to test drive were used Leafs that had come off leases. When drove with the salesman, I asked how much it would cost to replace the battery and he said it would be about $7500! he also said that the batteries on the used vehicles were “of course” used. It surprised and disappointed me that the replacement battery costs are still so high. That’s an additional disincentive to purchase the Leaf, IF any arrive in our state in time to take advantage of the current incentives and rebates. We are fortunate that the vehicles we have currently meet our needs well enough, but if we could get a new electric car at a great price ($17,500 discount), I would definitely consider it an have warmed my husband to the idea.
