Thanks, guys! I’m at about 80%, but H has it now.

My son, the PA, said Tamiflu’s side effects can be worse than the flu, so I didn’t bother.

That happened when my husband took Tamiflu.

That’s interesting. I got the flu shot several weeks ago at work, but I have no idea which one it was.

Never had side effects from Tamiflu. For me, it was like a miracle drug and within hours, I was good to go–whale watching, out to dinner, etc. Fever and chills disappeared and I felt GREAT!

I got a rogue strain in 2009. Ugh. It happens.

I got the nasal vaccine. The last few days I’ve been achey, tired, I feel a bronchitis attack coming, but it’s much milder than the flu I had years ago. I’m hoping it doesn’t get any worse.

Seems like the flu running around your area is the B/Brisbane/60/2008-like strain, which is the fourth strain included in the quadrivalent vaccine but not the trivalent vaccine.

In the last few hours, I feel like I have gotten hit by a truck. Everything hurts. I know I’ve likely been exposed to cases while at the health clinic (we’ve already had several confirmed cases come through).

Ugh I really, really hope I’m not getting the flu. I’ve had H1N1 and another strain. It feels like death.

Ugghh…with finals in 10 days I’m tempted to instruct my boys to go tomorrow to get flu shots.

Romani, please go to the doctor tomorrow and get Tamiflu.

@Romanigypsyeyes - agree with emilybee; take care of it tomorrow. I heard that this year they’re recommending a double drug cocktail to wipe it out, but you’ve got to get in quickly. Waiting until Monday won’t work… but I think I’m preaching to the choir.

Went in this morning… Woke up and couldn’t even swallow. A quick glance in the mirror told me what it really was and the urgent care confirmed- strep
(Better than flu though!!) Oh and Bronchitis. Which makes this the THIRD case of Bronchitis I’ve had this year.

Yep, better than the flu but still. Hope you feel better soon - now go back to bed and rest!

Of course, eb :). Cuddling up with my dog and tucking in for a day of rest and football.

The good news is how quickly strep responds to antibiotics. I expect you’ll start feeling better within a day or two.

Romani…dislike. Feel better fast.

I had a very severe flu several years ago - felt so bad I actually started crying at the doctors office (her remark next time I saw her was that, when I had the flu, I looked like I had been hit by a truck). She gave me Tamiflu which knocked the flu down BUT a couple of days later I had a severe vertigo episode (spinning head which actually felt like many brain did a 360 within my skull, bouncing off the walls like a drunk, throwing up if I moved or closed my eyes - or didn’t move or opened my eyes). I notice they now mention vertigo as a side effect of Tamiflu. I’d rather have the flu than vertigo, it’s the worst feeling. (I’m prone to vertigo and now, at my old Docs suggestion, I carry motion sickness pills at all times just in case. I haven’t had an episode in a while but am terrified of having one. I guess if I get a bad flu I can take motion sickness pills with the Tamiflu! Yea for CC threads, I have a plan in place)
