PSU Class of 2020 Decision Thread

@natamazan17 My daughter checked her portal Tuesday morning and saw she was accepted. Today’s mail brought the “Congratulations” packet.

Guys, my application status just changed to “under review”. How long do you reckon it’ll take to get my decision?
Thanks!

My S has been under review since Sept 15th. When did you apply? If before Nov 30th even if your docs were not in you are guaranteed to hear by Jan 30th 2016.

@crazycat220 Applied before the 30th of November. All I’ve to do is wait. Applied for CoE btw. International. Your S?

My son applied on November 26 but I’m not positive if his transcript and sat scores were in on or before November 30th. Does this mean because his scores and transcript possibly weren’t in that he will not be priority?

COE undecided in state, all good we all should hear soon!

@kdawn1130 Correct. If your son’s materials weren’t received by PSU admissions (even if they weren’t entered yet) by November 30, then he will be moved into the next batch of decisions, which is not priority. He would also not be guaranteed to hear by January 31st. Instead he would know by end of February. You can always call and see when they logged his information as arrived.

@collegecab PSU does not send out e mail decisions. Portal first, then regular snail mail. If your application still says under review then no decision has been made. Did you put a commonwealth campus as a second choice campus? You may be on an e mail list of some kind, but you wouldn’t get an official acceptance that way - unless they’ve drastically changed things - and not without updating the portal. The portal is the first thing to get updated.

Thanks @jlhpsu. That’s what I figured. I wish they put the dates that things were received like most other colleges do. Ugh, I guess I’ll assume he isn’t priority.

Psu is my first choice and I’m getting very nervous about the decision. If anyone can help PLEASE respond haha

An update for those questioning delivery method of acceptances.

As I posted previously my daughter was accepted this week - Wednesday. When I logged on at 6:30 am it came up as accepted. My daughter also checked her phone and had also received an email at the same time letting her know that she was accepted. As of Friday we have not received the packet in the mail.

@girl4atrainee My D got accepted Tuesday and got the packet today. So if your D got in on Wed. She should get her packet tomorrow…hopefully. : )

Has anyone heard back from the Smeal College of Business yet? Still haven’t gotten my decision even though I appllied EA.

@howisthis I have heard of a couple of acceptances to Smeal, but not many. I think for now the majority is just the DUS decisions. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure the Smeal bulk is late Jan :frowning:

I have seen a few Smeal. My daughter got into Health & Human Development. On the Facebook Class of 2020 page their seems to be a varied group of majors who got accepted.

do international students get some sort of “package” from PSU if they get in University park ?
