Psychology Major/general requirement question

Hi, all,

I’m an incoming junior transfer and Psych major. One of the recently added requirements for the major is cultural immersion, which seems to require some sort of study abroad experience to complete. A university wide requirement is the residency requirement; junior transfers need to spend 4 semesters at Wesleyan. How exactly would I fulfill the cultural immersion requirement if I’m expected to stay on-campus for four semesters? Would I have to stay an extra semester (oh no!)?

Any helpful information would be very, very appreciated.

Thanks!

I would probably contact the Psych department chair, Prof. Lisa Dierker, to get the most accurate information, and possibly discuss your specific situation. Wes faculty are very open and are here for students first and foremost- you can’t go wrong emailing or calling her. I imagine you might be able to substitute an experience you’ve had in the past or make another arrangement - it might be flexible.

Thanks for the starting point!
