Yeah the hockey door seems to be closing on him. I think it’s wider to focus on academics and get to the best school. University in Canada sounds promising.
The NCAA door is shut, but the ACHA route is wide open. Lots of schools at different divisions in ACHA are hunting hard for decent talent. Its a fun way to play college club hockey. JV1 hockey talent at an elite prep program (Cushing/KUA) can play ACHA somewhere. Check it out at the colleges where you are interested, but I agree with Canuck dad, focus on academics and not hockey. It will open more doors and get you more merit than hockey ever will.
