Actually sseamom, I think you’re right. I focused on the other points and glossed over -

<p>She definitely needs some work on her behavior and if I was the OP I wouldn’t want to keep throwing money down that drain either. Besides destroying the electronics she can damage people as well. I certainly wouldn’t want to be hit with a Kindle!</p>
<p>If this kid has any money at all I’d certainly make her pay for what she destroyed and I’d monitor her use of another computer very closely and limit it to only schoolwork unless she can prove she’s becoming more responsible. I wouldn’t even provide her with a cell phone. People don’t really ‘need’ cell phones - people managed to survive for many thousands of years without them - even us when we were her age.</p>
<p>If she doesn’t have any money it’s time to have her work off her debts in some way either in chores around the house or in a p/t job assuming she can get one and hold one.</p>
<p>At the risk of opening a can of worms - what does the other parent have to say about this - i.e is he/she supportive of the rules?</p>
