<p>1) I’m still iffy on the online placement tests too, but I’ve been told not to on certain occasions because I took the classes for them freshman year, and those are more indicative than the test. So I don’t plan to take any. But I’d consult an adivsor with specific questions. The gen ed requirements are here: <a href=“http://www.wcas.northwestern.edu/advising/distro.html[/url]”>http://www.wcas.northwestern.edu/advising/distro.html</a> and there’s a link there to the actual courses in the fall that fulfill each. FYI, you can fulfill up to half of the 12 distributionals with AP credits.</p>
<p>2) Again, I’m not all that sure, because my school was on a semester schedule with one class = one credit system. However, I took the normal load freshman year and ended up with 11 quarter credits, and I’d say that’s not bad. I know I’m going to bring in the syllabus for one of my courses to try and show them it counts for a different distribution, but I don’t know how much effect that will have. But they schedule a whole bunch of advisor meetings for new student week, so I wouldn’t worry.</p>
<p>3) I think internal gpa just means gpa for when you’re at NU. I don’t really think it matters. Again, anyone is free to tell me I’m wrong.</p>
<p>4) I’m not sure what you mean by back-credits. If you have 11 credits, you don’t really need to worry about graduating with enough, so you’re probably just fine. They’re definitely not going to make you start all over or anything. </p>
<p>5) What I said before on APs (that a total of 6 distributional credits is max) is pretty much all I know, but they’re pretty generous on what credits they’ll give if you got 5’s… not that I have that many either.
