On another note, how did you guys structure your biographical essay? I wrote about my immigrant life/childhood and transitioned to my actions as a high school student. Basically a timeline. I was wondering if anyone did it story style and focused on one or two events in your life that has shaped you.
Eek I meant Tuesday. My apologies!
@BundleaBees I already started it! I’m working on it! Any tips for us because it’s making me VERY nervous.
So yesterday, I received an email from QuestBridge (Associate Director - Partner Relations) informing me that I’m being nominated to attend UChicago Immersion & Pathways with a full scholarship. They said they need me to send some documents over by tomorrow to confirm my nomination and that after I was nominated, I would fill out a very small info form for UChicago then wait for their decision after QuestBridge sends them my CPS app. The person I talked to also said if I hadn’t received emails about any other nominations, I am not being considered for any other programs I listed. They also said that this does not mean I was selected as a CPS, though it does mean they thought I was an “impressive and promising” applicant, enough to nominate me to summer programs through QuestBridge.
Did anyone else get these and if so, did you get them for many programs or only a couple? Do you think this means you’ll probably be selected as a CPS? Also, do you think more emails will come later or did they all already get sent out?
Thanks!
@Lawgic101 I didn’t get the email (I didn’t apply for any summer programs), but congratulations!! I don’t know if it has any effect on whether or not you’ll get QB, but it certainly can’t be a bad thing. We’ll see in about a month.
I got an email two days ago and told me that I will receive an email at the end of May for the results.
@sun2001 Me too
@Lawgic101 I received the same email. I applied to three different summer program opportunities: Notre Dame, Yale, and UChicago. I don’t believe this email guarantees anything, but it may be a good sign. I believe results should be here by the end of May.
Hey, application statuses are in and I got rejected, probably because my family’s income was a bit high. Does anyone know if I can still apply for the national college match, or is that only for prep scholar applicants who were accepted?
You can definitely still apply to the NCM. CPS is not a be all end all of applications; it’s a small bump on a tertiary road. You can revise your application and make yourself a stronger applicant and hope for the best in the Fall. But yes, definitely you can still go for NCM and not getting into CPS won’t break your application whatsoever.
