choose instead to tell them that the Match is incredibly competitive especially considering the fact that almost all of them marked exclusively the non-binding schools, which are also the most competitive.

I see some lower-than-50% scores getting into some top schools. Amherst with a 29/1940, for example (the 50% for Amherst in 2014 was 32/2170), and some sub-50% for Tufts and Stanford as well - so far.
