QuestBridge National College Match 2014-2015

I just looked and so far I do not see the optional form on my account. However, I did receive another email from QuestBridge the other day and it had a link in it that showed a lot of students that did not get matched BUT who still applied RD, and not only got into some of the same schools they did not get matched with, but also got in to a lot of the other ones. All of the students in the email also received excellent financial aid packages that were equal to the QB scholarship.

Hmm, that’s strange. I don’t see it on my account, either!

Did anyone else get that email? I think it’s standard but I’m still quite nervous anyway. :-)

@happycamper2015 I got the email and it scared me! So the current theory behind seeing the optional regular decision form is that it depends on the schools you ranked. Like for example say Applicant A ranked : Stanford and Vanderbilt and both schools have their decisions already sent to QB and they didn’t match Applicant A, that means he/she should have the optional RD form. But it all depends on which schools have given QB their list of matched students. So maybe it’s coming in periodically.

Hi Ninadasiy, I agree. I do not know if we are correct or not but I was thinking the same thing. I was actually a little relieved that I did see the form. After not seeing it, I was thinking I may still have a shot at getting matched.

In an effort to not be completely devastated if I don’t get matched, I’m working on finishing some of the apps for a few of the other partner colleges also. ;-)

People were having this discussion on facebook and apparently one person who did get matched to a school last year also got the regular decision form. I think they send this to everybody. I haven’t checked my QB account in a while, so I don’t know it I have received it or not.

It’s definitely not located on my manage page. Maybe it’s a glitch and is only sent out early to some applicants accidentally? However, I do think it’s much more likely that it’s dependent on what schools the applicant ranked and if admissions have turned in their Match decisions yet.

Ok guys. It’s practically one week left until results are posted. How do you guys feel? I don’t think I can make it until December 1st.

Good luck to all of you…as a mom I know the nervousnous leading up to match day. Just for those who want to know, my daughter got the call about 5 pm, EST. It was from an odd area code…we had been watching for a Bay area code. It was a QB staffer that had gone to the school my daughter was matched to. So the point is, answer any calls that day. I will admit I was driving and had to pull over, my legs were shaking so bad! Again, good luck…but if you don’t get matched you still have a great acceptance chance into QB schools.

I would highly recommend applicants to stop looking for signs or small details pointing in one direction. When all is said and done, everyone will know very clearly if there was a match or not. I understand that the waiting game can be taxing, but you are not helping yourself by clicking every X minutes on the application or scrutinizing the web for “something new.” The reality is that some of you will hear next week. Some might get a phone call, others might get an email from the school. Some might read it on your application update.

Do the right thing: focus on your school work, try to get a Happy Thankgiving, and wait patiently for the news. And, if the news is not optimal, use your recharged batteries to present an even better application in the next rounds.

Between waiting for my SAT II Subject test score to post tomorrow and waiting for the QB match results Monday, this is going to be one heck of a week.

It is extremely exciting and nerve wrecking all at the same time! Either way it’s been a fun ride!

Good luck to everyone!

P.S. BTW, today I finally got that RD form letter notice on my QB application page. :-)

Honestly, where did November go???

When Thanksgiving rolls around you all, just stop. Don’t even think about college or anything. Just be thankful for everything…for the wonderful opportunity we all have with QB, for the amazing effort we’ve put in the past four years, for our family members, teachers, friends, or acquaintances who have had a profound impact on our lives. Everything happens for a reason and we will all get into amazing schools. And there is always RD! Ladies and gents… WE’RE AWESOME!!!

Still so stoked for December 1st!!!

Hey guys, so I am applying to Columbia through Questbridge regular decision and was wondering how do you send your transcript to Columbia? On the app requirements page it says “Submit (common app) along with official transcripts, Secondary School Report, and two teacher recommendations” but it does not specify how. Is my counselor supposed to send my transcript or I am supposed to do it myself?

My counselor did that for me. At my school we have to fill out a form as seniors that tell our counsellors what schools to send transcripts to.

Yeah, your counselor will send it when they complete the counselor recommendation.

To clarify, that’s with the Common App, so you go on your Common App account, and then to “My Colleges”, and under the Columbia will “Recommendations and FERPA” and there you can provide your counselor’s email for them to submit the items.

ohh okay, thanks everybody!

This break is going to be tortuous waiting for Monday.
Final reminder to everyone that YOU IS KIND. YOU IS SMART. YOU IS IMPORTANT.

Does not seeing the RD form mean I’m matched…

I’m not sure anyone knows for sure. I thought that same thing at first, but then saw a post that mentioned someone received the form notice and still got matched.

I’ve looked for other posts from last year trying to see if people received the RD form notice and still got matched but I have not found anything so far.

Personally, (and I do not have anything to support my thoughts) I think you might be correct.

Unfortunately, I received the RD form notice.

Good luck! :-)
