About the number of applicants, I can’t seem to find it on the Questbridge site again, but 2 years ago, there were about 900 finalists and 46 matches, while last year there were a little over 1500 finalists and 103 matches.

and I am pretty sure those number are going up this year.

http://www.questbridge.org/cmp/chances.html

I think someone asked this already, but do you find out in the morning of oct 26th or the evening if you’re a finalist. and if you’re not a finalist, do you still get an e-mail?

We get notified in the evening of october the 26th…yeah. So we basically have to be jumpy for an entire day. I think everyone will be notified regardless. It would only make sense. Good luck guys!

I was searching to see when they would tell us the results, and I discovered this thread, so I’m happy to know. However, I also know that I’m going to be jumpy all day too. Oi. Good luck everyone. I’m so so nervous.

how do you know it’s the evening. Is it just randomly throughout the day…

I called qbridge to ask about oct test scores and from what I understand, the list is already finalized and has been for a while now, the oct SAT doesn’t even affect the decisions :)

If the list is finalized, wish they could email us earlier.

If the Questbridge Application is forwarded to a school, but they require their own application, do they even look at the QB App? (Stanford)

Example for why this matters–if I choose to use one of my QB essays for the Common App sent to Stanford, and Stanford reads both QB and their own application, wouldn’t it be better instead to write a totally new essay? That’s twice the exposure!

um…they read both, yes. (this is a response to blddrake44) yet they dont mind. i wrote a new one. but they say that they don’t mind if you use the same essays.

well, they said you can just use your questbridge essay, that’s fine. I can’t seem to find the site but I’m sure they said it somewhere…sure you can write a new one but if they’re not going to penalize you, spend time on getting other stuff done

yet, i always get the sense that when they say that…they are really implying…“write a new one”

Oh man, tomorrow’s supposed to be an exciting day – QB and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard release! I’m not even kidding you, I can’t wait to see the greatness of it all. Not that I can really afford to buy a new computer right now. Heck, if I could, do you think I’d even think of applying to QB?

I wonder about how many people applied this year and how many finalists there are going to be. I also don’t really understand the concept of finding out in the evening if the list is already set.

Do you guys know approx. what time we’ll receive the emails (that notify us of our finalist status) in the evening?

Hey, just a question. Do you think the number of partner schools we selected for the Match will affect the Finalist List? JW… (Sorry if this question was already asked)

Hey, just wondering, where did you guys get the information that we’d be notified in the evening? Did someone call?

Back to the thing on the last page, I am pretty sure that you can just reuse essays. I have talked to a few admission officers directly of partner schools, and noe of them seemed to mind at all.

so…I don’t think they are trying to hint at anything.

Sorry guys but few pages back, I wrote that I emailed a QB counselor and he/she stated that we’d find out in the evening. I don’t know how much they’ll follow through with that but that’s their plan.
