If you decide to do IGETC, CS is in College of L&S at Berkeley and you need full IGETC for L&S if you choose it, so don’t do it if you can’t finish all by spring. Also keep in mind L&S at Berkeley will not let you use AP for breadth, although you can use if for IGETC. I’m just talking Berkeley, here.
I think you need to contact Berkeley and find out why they sent you that email about the English course. A mess up with English can lead you not getting into any UC. The two English are a very big deal with them.
