Question about dropping out of 5th year and employment gap

no, do not call the store. My guess is that Costco uses an online system such as Taleo-- store managers are not able to retrieve your application until it goes through their tracking system.

Let it be. If you get called for an interview you will have a chance to explain your status.

Thank you, blossom.

I got an email from a recruiter and have to email her my resume. Would it be better for me to put Winter 2012 as the graduation date or Summer 2012? If I put Summer then it would look like I would have had only a couple months of gap, but eventually if they ask for my unofficial transcript it would only show that classes have been taken till Winter 2012.

Considering- you need to put down the truthful answer which in your case, is whatever the registrar of your college deems your graduation date to be. Do not fudge the date. Costco will check. Put down the date that reflects what the college will tell Costco.

You need to stop worrying about the gap and just get a job!!! This is great news that you got an email from a recruiter. Stop obsessing and start preparing for an interview.

The college would not deem my graduation date to be anything because I haven’t graduated and can’t graduate until I pay of several thousands of dollars before I can get my diploma and official transcript.

They said that I could have my graduation date to be whatever I want when I declare graduation; Winter 2012, Summer 2012, Fall 2012 (which I wouldn’t want to do because I want a job right away and they might think I wouldn’t be available until the end of December) or even Winter 2013 and so on, without taking any classes in the terms from Summer 2012 and on.

Considering- put down on your resume “anticipated graduation date Summer 2013 but all course work for BA has been completed” (if in fact that is truthful.)

Then tell the recruiter that you are working out a couple of administrative and financial details before you will be able to get your diploma but that you’ve completed all your course work (if in fact that is the case.)

Yes it is truthful, I have all requirements satisfied.

If I put the “anticipated graduation date Summer 2013 but all course work for BA has been completed,” then they might think I am still taking classes for some reason despite having met requirements for graduation.

Would it look bad to wait to explain until they ask for (unofficial?) transcripts?
