<p>DD lived in Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper Village a couple of years ago. It is a very nice community with gardens, fountains, a tennis courts. Lower density to ease the shock of moving from SoCal. Also, parking is available if you bring a car and ever feel the need to get out of the city and explore the Northeast (but Zip cars are available). Excellent location near Union Square.
