Question about Transcript

I am currently taking a gap year because I was literally in and out of the hospital for 4 months during the fall of my senior year and I didn’t really have the time to apply to college and keep my grades up at the same time.

I went to 2 different high schools during my career. One was a public school and one was a private school with a class of only 94 kids. The public school GPA was not weighted, but the difficulty of the classes were described on your transcripts. The private school GPA was weighted. At the public school my GPA was a 4.0 and my weighted GPA was around 4.30 at the private school.

The private school, unfortunately, listed all the classes I took at my first high school as college prep (which is the lowest level of class and adds no points to your GPA). I think this is very unfair because I took courses at my first high school that were harder than classes at the private school. I also took the highest level classes available for my grade level at the public school which were highly comparable to honors.

I know the rigors of classes are considered during the admissions process and my final transcript doesn’t truly provide details about how hard I worked during my Freshman and Sophomore year. Any ideas how I can change it?

Admissions professionals can draw the distinctions. Plus, you need to send your public school transcript in separately too, in most cases.
