I just commited to USC, and Im trying to sign up for orientation, but I cant seem to find the link! Do we need to wait for a confirmation in the mail/email first?

Is there anywhere to store stuff that would not fit in a regular dorm room??
My son has music equipment that he wants to bring with him, including a HUGE amplifier, but there is no way it would fit in a dorm room. It’s valuable, so it would need to be somewhere secure.

Also, sorry if this has been asked before, but if you get the Trojan plan (the one that is all dining dollars) can you still eat at Parkside and EVK? How does that work?
Thanks!

Can you fill more than one supplemental for residential community?

We attended an admitted student reception and someone (I can’t remember if it was in the college of engineering or in a general information session) said that at USC you would never not graduate in 4 years because you couldn’t get into the class(es) you need.
Is this true? Can you always get into the classes you need? Are classes offered every semester? Or or there some that are only offered once a year (like at our state Us)?

einnob,
This is word for word from the USC orientation program website “Students who are unable to register online should first make sure that the USC Admission Office has processed their Enrollment Commitment Deposit and 5-7 business days have transpired following that processing. Once this has happened, you will receive an e-mail from Orientation Programs with login and reservation instructions.”

inspiredbymusic,
I have no idea about bringing a large amp. However, I would think that you should only bring stuff that can fit in your dorm room, b/c I don’t know who would be able to look after it. You might try calling the housing office, though.

Yes, you can go to EVK/Parkside with the Trojan plan. You would use your dining dollars to get in (it would be anywhere from 10-13 dining dollars, depending on what meal of the day you go for.)

I can’t speak for Viterbi, but I’ve always been able to get the classes I want/need. (Whether or not I can get the TIME I want, is a different story, though.) Some classes ARE NOT offered every semester. It would say in the Catalogue what classes these are.

pixeljig,
Yes, you can fill out more than one supplemental housing application. It’s due May 1st, so hurry!

Hope I helped!

@me722, in another thread about dorms someone is saying that you need a supplemental housing applications for all the floors in a dorm (eg. you would need to fill out an application for a “normal” floor - not a special interest floor - in say… Birkrant)… Is this true, or are the supplement applications only needed for the special interest floors?

poncem,
You have to fill out a supplemental application for:
- All Residential “Colleges” so ALL floors in (ie- Birnkrant, New/North, Parkside IRC/ A&H)
- All Special Interest Floors (ie- The Business Floor in North, the Cinema Floor in New, or the Great Outdoors Floor in Pardee)

So, for example, you don’t need to fill out the supplemental app if you were just applying to a floor in Pardee, however, if you wanted to be in the Great Outdoors Floor, you would have to.

In another example, if you want to live in Birnkrant, you HAVE to fill out the Birnkrant supplemental app.

Say you want to live in North, you have to fill out the North supplemental app, regardless of what floor you want to live on. If you did want to live on the Business Floor of North, in addition to the North supplemental app, you would have to fill out the Business floor app, also.

I hope that makes sense to you!

Yes, thank you!

When you put in your dorm choices lets say BK, Pardee etc, then you have to fill in multiple forms if you want to do the outdoor in Pardee plus the one for BK???

Verrry Confused!!

As I said on the other thread, according to the person in charge of the residential colleges, the supplement is only for special interest floors. Here is the person I spoke with, if you’d like to call yourself.

Dr. Jennifer Stevenson
Office for Residential Education
University of Southern California
213-821-5658

so that means you DON’T have to submit a supplemental application for a regular room in birnkrant, correct?

@ Saitsuzen, that is what she said.

hmm…about the supplemental apps, last year, we had to fill one out for birnkrant, so they must have changed it.

sorry if i gave ya’ll the wrong info! but its good that jazz/sheddermom took the initiative to call.

does anyone know stats of people accepted into the Interactive Media MFA? i want to know majors, gpa’s, what university they came from, what kinda stuff was in their portfolio, why they think they got in, etc. thanks!

sorry billyballs. no idea. you should check out the SCA website, though, for more info.

How can I sign up for the International Orientation? I’m not an international student, by the way…do I have to call them ? Can I just register online??

shinywing you should call the orientation staff before trying to register for an international orientation (if you’re not an international). They might allow it, but it’s not what is normally done.

Anyway, you’ll find a link to register to international orientation here: [Welcome to the USC Orientation Programs Website](http://sait.usc.edu/orientation/international/)
