does anyone know the books needed for Writing Seminar?

Those books vary, of course, based on the writing seminar.

are there more than one freshman writing seminar?

there are approximately 95 freshman writing seminars… and many other writing / english courses.

so how on earth would one go about signing up for a writing seminar?

Pick the one you want and sign up for it…

haha meng and jeremy! sup guys. I would suggest that you guys be really careful about buying books for courses that require “packages”. Although you do save a lot of money sometimes (I saved $170 for Math114 last semester, just to illustrate), the bundles do sometimes contain useful things such as answer guides and maple/maple manuals.
