Question from a deferred student

I found the letter to be kind of cool .
That being said , Id be spending time trying to find other schools that you’dlove as much as U Chic. I am deeply saddened and furstrated to hear so many students sounding depressed bc of a deferred status. There is not ONE school that is going to define your future success and or happiness. There are so many times in life in which we were rejected from something and then the next choice turned out to be better. If understand the desire is strong for those that want U Chic or wherever , But don’t give a deferral the power to create pain and sadness. You have no clue what goesinto the admissions process- maybe they have a quota of men and now need women
Hard to speculate on the unknown .
I’m sure you would do equally well at so many other cool places-
Reed College, ( Steve Jobbs went to Reed ) Wesleyan , Swarthmore, Vassar, Carnagiee Melon Skidmoor just to name a few.
Donr be sad— Be happy !! You have a lot going for you that most others will never have !!
Good Luck !!!
