@SweedDz . Just look at the avg GPA, Test scores and EC&awards of students accepted, most of them are good at everything and well-rounded! 
It is “YOU” who need to make yourself stand out and above the other some 37k well-rounded applicants! Publishing a Self-sponsored book might not be a good idea and IMHO you are trying way too much! My suggestion to you…spend your time wisely on your essays. If your essays are as good as you claimed, good enough to publish, I believe you will win the vote from AO! Focus on couple meaningful ECs and you will be fine!
