Sorry, I’m definitely in-state :)

For me, the PROFILE doesn’t show anything else that the FAFSA doesn’t show, besides the fact that we bought a 170k house, and payed off about 40k of it. I don’t think this would raise my EFC though would it? I mean all of our income is going towards the house anyways. Also, at the time I submitted the PROFILE in November, we had 40k in savings. When I submitted the FAFSA, we had around 30k. They’ll probably notice the decline, right?

Also, in November my parents said on the PROFILE they could contribute $5k, but things have changed and our EFC is 0. I didn’t think it was necessary to update the entire PROFILE for this one change though. Anyways, I don’t think this number is used at all, since anyone could put down anything.

Anyways, will I be okay with financial aid at U of M? I’m wondering how I’ll get my $25000 need met by getting so little from the FSEOG. I mean, there isn’t much else is there? And U of M has a maximum of $5500 in loans I can take out as well, so the rest has to be grants, and the $3k or whatever from work-study?

Thanks so much for all the info!
