Quit a four-year university, started at a CCC then transfer to UC

Hi, really thank you for replying my post. I am sure that some of my 33 credits taken at my previous university cannot be transferred since they are GE class exclusively offered at that university. But some of the GE classes, for example, introduction to Psychology, may be transferable. In that case, I am wondering how will they calculate my GPA? Because I took Introduction to Psychology at my previous university and got A-, then after going to study in CCC, for the similar class, I got A. Will they take the average of A- and A? Or will they just replace A with A-?

If you took courses that are duplicates of each other then you only get credit once. For repeated courses, UC only allows repeating and grade replacement if the previous grade was C- or lower, but do not exactly say what they do if you do repeat a course with a C or higher grade (probably means that they will take the first C or higher grade, but ask to verify).

Note that a course may be UC transferable but not a direct equivalent to a course offered by the UC campus(es) you are applying to. Such a course could possibly be used to fulfill less specific requirements that describe it (e.g. “an arts or literature course”, “a social science course”), or could be transferred as non-specific credit.
