<p>I will say this though, when I was on campus both times, it did feel like a university in the sense that there were a lot of different people around from seemingly different backgrounds, etc. So visiting may be a good idea to see for yourself, but the official number is 73% white at Penn State. As mentioned, its located in rural PA, and rural farmlands historically aren’t very diverse. The state of PA in 2011 had a population of 83% white people for the whole state, so its not a very diverse state to start out with.</p>
