Raise your hand if you're retaking the SAT

a full 300 points less than the PSAT… god do i feel lucky today

god bless october… and SAT II World History

just missed the 2200 mark by the slimmest margin possible…but 800 on math yay!

october retake…

but i have one question…do colleges take the best score for each section on the sat or a complete sat score in any one sitting? like if in october i get better CR score but worse math score…do college condsider my 800 in the may one and the CR from the october one?

Drnoeyed: It depends on the college. Some take the best of each, some take the best sitting.

I will probably retake.
CR: 730
M: 770
W: 750
2250.
I wanted higher than a 2300. I’m shooting for Ivies.

Eravial, I guarantee you not every ivy student scores 2300

DEFINATELY retaking. haha I’m the kid way in the back who desperately wants the teachers attention.1720. It was my first time and I didn’t buy any books. What does everyone suggest? Especially for math? I want to raise every section like 100-150 points.

I am going to repeat it again in october got 1710

Has anyone here gone from a 1710 to above 2100 inthe SAT?

550 in CR. I think I’ll retake xP

raising hands (2190, 1st try)

My D well retake to increase 680 in math and 620 in writing…the writing was a surprise, a big drop from the PSAT

Well considering I had and still have mono at the time, I will definitely be retaking it. Plus, I’m only a sophmore

Math- 590 (ugh!)
Writing- 650
Reading- 760

Broken calculator + way too many “How many combinations/how many lines can be drawn/how many numbers have a 2 in them?” questions* = retaking in October JUST for the math score.

Stupid lkasdklwkeklsjklszlkj. The Math sections always screw up my score. I’m so bad at them (ironically, I have an A+ in H Pre-Calc… and I just got an embarrassingly low Math score).

Yeah seriously…I’m going to own the October retake. FORGET YOU, COLLEGEBOARD! I’M GOING TO SEEK MY REVENGEEEEE RAWR

Actually, forget about SATs in general. I have my ACT score =P

i took it twice already…combined score is 2170
Math: 750 (740)
WR: 790 (730)
CR: 630 (620)…YES…630…
when i took it in march…it was with a bad cold…couldn’t really ‘read’ u know?..then in may…i felt awesome at 3 of 4 cr sections i did…and LO AND BEHOLD…the one i sucked balls at counted…

i got a 690 in cr on psat…so i keep telling myself that the reasons above are excuses for why i did bad in CR for the past 2 tests…my parents are telling me i’m just making up excuses…now i’m not so sure…but anyway…a summer of CR is ahead…

OCTOBER…HERE I COME!

You shouldn’t take it more than twice…maybe 3 times. Honestly, colleges know there isn’t a big difference between a 2200 and a 2300. Theres a reason perfect scores get rejected so much…they really aren’t hugely important.

Got scores back today and I will be retaking again in October! Yay!

690 on CR
680 on Math
710 on Writing (10 on the essay)
2080 Overall (blahhhh)

I was kind of hoping for a 2200 so that I wouldn’t really need to take it again, but now I definitely will.

1980~~1st try anyways, just taking it as a practice test. Retaking SAT in Dec. and SAT II in November. Plus, any CR tips? It killed me like crazyy… 500 :'(

I’m only a sophomore, so I’ll definatley retake them, but I’m really pleased with my 1910. I need to raise my writing.

raises both hands

OMG, cherryli1114…we have the same score…1980
AND i did the worst in CR-590 too…i need some tips too…especially vocab…grrr

I’ll likely retake it to qualify for merit scholarships because my scores have been disappointing, namely in math [740 and 750]. I seem to make two or three careless errors. For a superscore, I’m looking for 720 CR, 800 M, 700 W. So far, I’m at 720 CR, 750 M, 680 W, which isn’t too bad I guess, but as always, I’m not going to be motivated to study at all, especially over the summer.

Math shouldn’t be a problem and I guess I can improve writing, but time limits are challenging for me in terms of actual writing speed.
